JONESBORO — Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd says a Jonesboro man was killed when his helicopter crashed at a small airport near Jonesboro.
Boyd told KAIT-TV on Monday that the victim is 72-year-old Floyd Vuncannon.
Boyd previously told reporters that the helicopter crashed and caught fire shortly after takeoff about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Classic Air Airstrip on Arkansas 18 just east of Jonesboro.
National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Eric Weiss said the NTSB is investigating the crash and that it could take up to a year before a probable cause is determined.
