A convicted killer who escaped from a prison work detail Monday has been captured, according to the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Lloyd Jones, 40, of Lavaca was taken into custody at 3:02 p.m. Thursday, said Solomon Graves, spokesman for the department.

Jones, 40, of Lavaca was last seen Monday working at a site about 2 miles west of the prison near Brickeys in Lee County. Jones pleaded guilty in August 2012 in the slaying of 16-year-old Angela Allen, and he was sentenced to 60 years in prison as a habitual offender.

Graves said no additional details were available on Jones' capture.

"The capture of Lloyd Jones is a testament to the dedication of the ADC staff and our law enforcement partners involved in this search," department Director Wendy Kelley said.

The FBI announced Wednesday that it was offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to his capture. There was no immediate word Thursday whether anyone had called in a tip that led to Jones' capture.
