Arkansas Index picks up 2.14 to cap mixed week

The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, rose 2.14 to 318.71 Friday.

Half of the index stocks rose and half lost ground for the week. Windstream shares rose 6.3 percent. Home BancShares fell 7.7 percent.

Total volume for the index was 37.1 million shares.

The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
