• Pitcher Daniel Wright (Arkansas State) was optioned to the Class AAA Louisville Bats by the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday. Wright was touched up for 5 runs -- 3 earned -- over 3 innings for the Reds in a 9-8 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Monday. He went 0-2 with a 7.62 ERA in 4 appearances for the Reds, including 2 starts. He allowed 16 runs (11 earned) on 25 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts in 13 innings.

• Pitcher Justin Thomas (Southern Arkansas) was placed on the disabled list by the Potomac Nationals (High-A Nationals) on Thursday with an undisclosed injury. Potomac media relations manager Mike Weisman said "there is no information to pass along" regarding Thomas' injury. "Injury information is rarely made public," Weisman added.

• Outfielder Delta Cleary (Jonesboro) was activated from the disabled list on June 12 by the independent Long Island Ducks. Cleary, who was placed on the disabled list May 13 with an undisclosed injury, went 1 for 5 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored in his return Sunday as the Ducks beat the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 14-4. He then went 2 for 4 with 2 stolen bases Thursday in a 3-1 victory over the New Britain Bees.
