Jacksonville police arrested a man in connection with a Monday morning bank robbery but have not recovered the stolen money, according to a police report.

Jeremy Don Miller, 27, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery and theft of property after confessing to police, the report said.

Officers responded shortly after 8:14 a.m. to a First Arkansas Bank & Trust branch at 501 N. J.P. Wright Loop Road, just east of North First Street. Police said a man walked into the business, pointed a pistol at employees and demanded money. He then ran out of the building with an unknown amount of cash, heading south toward a ditch line.

No injuries were reported, and Miller told police he had used an airsoft pistol, according to the report.

Police released surveillance images of the holdup, and about 9:30 a.m. got a tip that the robber was Miller, the report said. Police were waiting at Miller's apartment when he and another man drove up in a pickup, and officers initially arrested him for failure to appear at Jacksonville District Court.

Miller told police a man named Paco had coerced him into the robbery, the report said. His wife, Ariel, told police that, after Miller borrowed money from an acquaintance, Paco threatened him at gunpoint to take part in the heist, the report said.

Miller took police to the ditch where he left his backpack after the robbery, but the money was not there, according to the report. After initially saying Paco must have picked it up as they had planned, Miller then told police he stashed it under the seat of his friend's truck when he saw officers waiting for him outside his apartment, according to the report.

Police did not find the money in the truck, either.
