Arkansas man held on first-degree murder charge in death of girlfriend's ex-boyfriend

A Pine Bluff man questioned in a dispute Wednesday that left his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend dead is now being held on a charge of first-degree murder, records show.

Aaron Crift, 34, also known as “KC,” was interviewed Wednesday evening by police in the death of James Murry, 44, of Pine Bluff but had not been charged at that time, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette previously reported.

Crift was booked at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday into the Jefferson County jail without bond, according to a roster.

Murry was found shortly after noon lying on his front porch at 315 W. 15th St. with a single gunshot wound in his head after an apparent fight over clothing and other property the ex-girlfriend had inside his home, according to police.

He was pronounced dead at Jefferson Regional Medical Center around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday before emergency personnel could airlift him to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock.
