MUSIC SCENE: Here are the bands and artists playing shows around the state this week

Cheap Trick

Rock band Cheap Trick will perform in the fourth show of the 2016 concert series at Magic Springs & Crystal Falls Water and Theme Park on Saturday night. Bombay Black will open the show at 7 p.m. and Cheap Trick will follow at 8.

Lawn seating is included in the price of admission, with limited reserved seating available for $8 or $10. Parking is $10. Season passes are $74.99 plus tax or $69.99 plus tax at Kroger stores; $59.99 the day of the concert; free for children 3 and younger; $36.99 for children shorter than 48 inches and adults age 55 and older.

Cheap Trick was formed in Rockford, Ill., in 1973 by Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar), Tom Petersson (bass) and Bun E. Carlos (drums). Carlos left the band in 2010 and was replaced by Daxx Nielsen, son of band member Rick Nielsen.

The group, whose best known songs include "I Want You to Want Me," "Surrender," "Ain't That a Shame," "Dream Police," "The Flame," "Don't Be Cruel" and "Can't Stop Fallin' Into Love," has released 17 studio albums, the latest of which, Bang, Zoom, Crazy ... Hello, was released April 1. (The most successful band album was 1979's Cheap Trick at Budokan, a live recording from Japan.)

On April 8, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The third annual Vanapalooza featuring The Federalis, Monkhouse, Go Fast, The Wildflowers Revue and Charlotte Taylor, will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Rev Room in Little Rock. Admission is $10.

The Musiq & Friends (Demarcus and Pettus) will present "a Blazing Showcase" at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for standing room, $15 for guaranteed seating or $20 for VIP section.

Fret & Worry will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at South on Main in Little Rock. Admission is $10.

P.J. Morton will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $20.

Morton has been the keyboardist in rock band Maroon 5 since 2010. The New Orleans-born Morton won Grammy Awards for his songwriting and production work on India.Arie's Interested album.

Motel Mirrors will perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday at White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $7.

Motel Mirrors began in 2013 as a duo of two Memphis-based singer-songwriters, John Paul Keith and Amy LaVere, who then added Texan Will Sexton, as the duo became a trio. The band has raised more than three-fourths of its goal of $14,000 to make a full-length album.

Heartbreakers & Rumpshakers will present the fifth annual "Summer Solstice" at 10 p.m. Saturday, with The Funk A Nites, who will back singer Bijoux, along with DJ sets by G-Force, Joshua Asante and Baldego. Admission is $10.

Rice, who has toured with Kenny Chesney and The Cadillac Three, released the single "Whisper" in February. He released hit singles "Ready Set Roll" in 2013 and "Gonna Wanna Tonight" in 2014.
