Police detained Aaron Crift, 34, of Pine Bluff in the shooting. Crift, also known as "KC," was being interviewed by police Wednesday evening and had not been charged.

A witness told police that Murry had been arguing with his ex-girlfriend earlier in the day before Crift, the woman's new boyfriend, went to Murry's house, De Foor said.

"Apparently the argument was about clothing and other property the ex-girlfriend still had inside Murry's residence," De Foor said.

The witness told police that Murry went outside to talk to Crift. The witness said he heard a "pop," and when he went to see what was happening he saw Murry lying on the porch bleeding with Crift standing over him holding a pistol, the report said.

Another witness told officers the gunman had left in a white Jeep SUV headed west on 15th Street..

Detective Mike Sweeney saw the vehicle traveling west on 14th Street and pulled it over, the release said. Crift jumped out of the vehicle and ran into a residence in the 1200 block of West 14th Street, police said.

Crift was apprehended without incident inside the home, De Foor said.

Police also detained Murry's ex-girlfriend for questioning, De Foor said.

Murry's death is the fifth homicide in Pine Bluff this year and the second this week.
