2 Little Rock men killed after being ejected from scooter in 2-vehicle crash

Two Little Rock residents were killed after being ejected from a scooter in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday at an intersection in Pulaski County, police said.

The crash occurred when Cleophus Bowie, 50, and Nathaniel Watson, 48, were traveling west in the 4000 block of West 12th Street around 12:56 a.m. on a Tao Tao scooter, according to a preliminary report from Arkansas State Police.

Bowie, who was driving the scooter, ran a red light at South Cedar Street, causing the scooter to strike a southbound 2002 Ford Explorer, authorities said. Bowie and Watson were then ejected from the scooter.

Bowie was pronounced dead at the scene while Watson was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, state police said.

The driver of the Ford, Alicia Sessions, 34, of Little Rock, was injured in the crash, the report states.

Travel conditions at the time of the crash were described as clear and dry.
