Man dies after motorcycle drives into ditch in Arkansas

A motorcycle wreck killed an Ohio man Wednesday afternoon in east Arkansas, state police said.

Thomas and John Nejedly of Sandusky, Ohio, were riding north on Bing's Store Road in Crittenden County at 2:22 p.m. when Thomas Nejedly lost control of the Suzuki motorcycle and drove into a ditch on the right side of the road, according to a report.

Thomas Nejedly, 68, was later pronounced dead at Regional One Health in Memphi. Police said John Nejedly, 61, was injured in the crash.

The wreck marked the 246th death on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary state police data.

It was also the ninth fatal motorcycle wreck since June 17 and the 14th this month.

Police listed conditions as clear and dry at the time of the wreck.
