Almost a month after making his major-league debut, former Razorback Brett Eibner is heading back to the minors.

The Kansas City Royals announced Saturday that the club optioned Eibner back to Triple-A Omaha to make room for left fielder Alex Gordon, who was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list.

In 11 games, Eibner, who mostly played left field in Gordon's absence, hit .297 with six extra-base hits (one home run) and seven RBIs.

His brief stint with the Royals had both highs and lows. In his second career game, he hit a walk-off single to complete a historic seven-run comeback victory over the White Sox. Three days later, he sprained his left ankle and was put on the 15-day disabled list.

He returned to the Royals on June 16. He recorded five hits in seven games, including going 1-for-3 Friday against the Houston Astros, before he was sent back to the Storm Chasers, who are in Nashville.

Eibner, 27, was drafted by the Royals in 2010.
