PAPER TRAILS: Arkansan returns to 'Big Brother'; new biography on Helen Gurley Brown

BOOKING IT: Enter Helen, a new biography of Arkansas native Helen Gurley Brown, the longtime editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine, has hit the shelves.

"While researching the book, I traveled to your beautiful state to meet one of Brown's cousins, who still lives there, and visited Green Forest [Brown's hometown] and Osage [where she's buried], among other places," reports the book's author, Brooke Hauser. More information on the book is available at brookehauser.com/book/enter-helen/.

Meanwhile, Delight resident Penny Richards will soon release her new historical mystery, An Untimely Frost, published by Kensington Books of New York. The book is the first in her new series of Lilly Long mysteries. Richards is the best-selling author of 40-plus books for Harlequin, Silhouette, Steeple Hill and Harper Paperbacks, and is a Romantic Times magazine lifetime achievement award winner. The book, which landed a four-star rating from Romantic Times, is set to hit stores in August.

In other literary news, Ann Robertson of Searcy will see her story, which was previously published in Guideposts magazine's offshoot, Mysterious Ways magazine, included in a new book, Mysterious Ways: More than Coincidence. Her essay shares one of the many mysterious "coincidences" she experienced in the mid-1980s while seeking and praying for a baby to adopt. The retired English, art and journalism teacher also has previously seen her work published in several Chicken Soup for the Soul collections.

NEW ROLE: Skip Rutherford, dean of the Clinton School of Public Service, will be featured in the forthcoming film, Command & Control, set to be released this fall. The documentary, which chronicles the September 1980 explosion of a Titan II missile near Damascus, is based on Eric Schlosser's best-selling book. The Clinton School, where Schlosser earlier spoke, will host a screening of the film when it's released. Rutherford also appears in the film's trailer.

MUSICAL MISSION: Emily Michelle Davault of Little Rock will be among the musicians performing this Fourth of July with a goal of 200-plus piccolo players performing during John Philip Sousa's "The Stars and Stripes Forever" with the Dallas Winds at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. As of Friday, the center had 125 piccolo players registered to participate.

BACK IN THE HOUSE: That would be Marion native Frank Eudy, who has returned to CBS' reality show Big Brother. The son of professional wrestler Sid Eudy (Sid Vicious) first appeared as a house guest on the 14th season of the reality show. He finished in seventh place and is now back for the 18th season. The younger Eudy, who lives in Naples, Fla., is considered by many to be one of the greatest physical competitors in the show's history. In that earlier season, he won $25,000 after being designated America's Favorite House Guest.
