A Lowell man was arrested Saturday after threatening his family and barricading himself inside his home, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Douglas Earl Damerville, 40, of 15785 Lakeview Drive was arrested Saturday in connection with two counts of third-degree assault on a family member or household member, criminal trespassing and second-degree terroristic threatening, all misdemeanors.

Damerville was involved in a family verbal disturbance "gone bad," according to Deputy Keshia Guyll, the office's spokesman.

Damerville also made verbal threats toward deputies and the SWAT team was called to the scene, Guyll said. Negotiators were able to get Damerville to surrender voluntairly and he was taken into custody with no injuries, Guyll said.

Damerville was being held Sunday at the Benton County jail with no bond set.

He is scheduled to be arraigned July 26, according to jail records.
