Road work to close I-430 to I-30 ramp

Application of a high-friction surface treatment on the Interstate 430/Interstate 30 interchange will require an overnight lane closure tonight and into Monday morning, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

The ramp carrying traffic from I-430 southbound to I-30 eastbound will be closed between 10 p.m. today and 6 a.m. Monday.

Signs will direct motorists to Exit 128 on southbound I-430 and the I-30 north service road in front of the Outlets of Little Rock and Bass Pro Shop, the department said. Eastbound I-30 traffic will then use the Mabelvale West Road Overpass and re-enter I-30 at the next entrance ramp.

The exit ramp carrying traffic from southbound I-430 to westbound I-30 will be unaffected by this work, the department said.

The treatment is a safety measure that uses rocks that are both polish- and wear-resistant and develops channels to prevent water buildup on wet surfaces.
