Six selected for $70,000 awards at university

FAYETTEVILLE — Six incoming freshman will receive $70,000 each in financial support as Bodenhamer Fellows at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

The fellows program, now in its 18th year, offers top students financial support to study abroad or for other academic-related needs in addition to scholarship funds that cover the cost to attend UA.

To be eligible for the awards, students must score at least 32 on the ACT and have a minimum 3.8 gradepoint average. Other criteria used by UA’s Honors College in selecting honorees include community service and extracurricular activities.

This year’s fellows are:

• Srusti Maddala, Har-ber High School, of Springdale.

• Harris Bethel, Episcopal Collegiate School, of Little Rock.

• Maxwell Carter, The Academies at Jonesboro High School, of Jonesboro.

• Veronica Hader, Bentonville High School, of Bentonville.

• Cheyenne Lowrey, Hamburg High School, of Hamburg.

• Allison Vincent, Jenks High School, of Jenks, Okla.
