An Arkansas man died early Tuesday morning when his pickup overturned in Cleburne County, police said.
Arkansas State Police said it happened shortly after 2 a.m. as Rick Ison, 51, of Clinton was driving a Ford F-250 east on Arkansas 92 just west of Arkansas 25.
Police said Ison was driving through a left curve when his pickup veered onto the right shoulder. He overcorrected and the pickup crossed the highway and went into a ditch on the left side of the highway, according to a preliminary report. Police said the vehicle then crashed into an embankment and a tree before it overturned.
Preliminary records indicate Ison's death was the 254th fatality on Arkansas roads this year. Police listed conditions as clear and dry at the time of the wreck.
