Another change coming for college coaches in recruiting

According to Arkansas compliance, beginning Aug. 1, college coaches can retweet, favor or like a prospect's tweet on Twitter. The change also includes Facebook and all the other social media sites.

Coaches are still forbidden to communicate publicly with recruits. Any communication must stay private through direct messages.

Twitter, which started in March 2006, is the most popular social media forum for coaches and prospects to communicate.

The NCAA has been loosening up recruiting restrictions on coaches, including lifting the ban on texting in April. Text messaging in football was banned in 2007.
