JONESBORO — Arkansas State women's basketball coach Brian Boyer has hired former Red Wolf player Aundrea Gamble as an assistant coach.

Boyer announced the hiring Wednesday and said he believes Gamble's "tremendous drive, work ethic and competitiveness ... will carry over into coaching."

Gamble was a three-time Sun Belt Conference women's basketball Student-Athlete of the Year while at ASU.

Gamble's playing career ended this past season with her fourth on the all-time A-State scoring list with 1,932 points and tied for second all-time with 492 assists.

She led ASU to three consecutive Women's National Invitation Tournament appearances.
