2 shot at Arkansas print shop, police say; 58-year-old man sought

A 58-year-old man is sought after two people were shot at a print shop in Heber Springs on Thursday, according to police.

The conditions and identities of the victims were not released by authorities as of about 4 p.m.

Heber Springs Police Chief Bobby Walker said his agency responded around noon to The Print Shop, 2304 Arkansas 25, in reference to a call of a shooting.

Inside the store, Walker said, police found two adult victims and called for ambulances.

David Hammonds has been developed as a suspect in the case and remains at large, according to authorities.

A detailed physical description of Hammonds was not available. He could be traveling in a gray or silver 2009 Dodge 1-ton flat-bed truck with an Arkansas license plate of D317551, police said.

Arkansas State Police and the Cleburne County sheriff’s office are assisting in the investigation. Authorities remained on scene shortly before 4 p.m.

State police spokesman Bill Sadler directed specific information regarding the investigation to local authorities, only confirming that his agency was called to assist on “specific assignments” in Heber Springs.

Heber Springs Mayor Jimmy Clark declined to comment pending the outcome of the investigation.
