Country's Joe Diffie to play Oaklawn Spa Blast

Country singer Joe Diffie will perform on the track infield 8-9:30 p.m. Friday for the 25th annual Spa Blast, the Independence Day celebration at Oaklawn Racing & Gaming in Hot Springs. Fireworks will follow. Opening acts are Hillbilly Vegas, Blackwater Trio, Jacob Flores, Jeff Hartzell and a Hot Springs dance group.

There will also be a kids' zone with a rock wall, plus a misting tent, petting zoo and refreshments. Blankets and chairs are welcome, but coolers will not be allowed. Admission is free; gates open at 4 p.m.

Diffie's No. 1 hits include "Home," "If the Devil Danced (in Empty Pockets)," "Third Rock From the Sun," "Pickup Man" and "Bigger Than The Beatles."

Contemporary Christian bands Kutless, Derek Minor and Tony Tillman will play at 8 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $44.99 plus tax, and children's admission is $34.99 plus tax for those under 48 inches tall. There will be fireworks after the show.
