Children's activities, a car show, a big finale courtesy of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and a riot of fireworks will celebrate America's birthday at the annual Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Pops on the River, Monday in Little Rock's Riverfront Park. 2 FRENZY

Easter Seals Arkansas will offer prime seats for the Pops on the River fireworks with its annual Fireworks Frenzy benefit, 8 p.m. Monday on the Grand Ballroom Terrace at the Little Rock Marriott, 3 Statehouse Plaza, Little Rock. Have fun with history as the Historic Arkansas Museum hosts its annual Frontier Fourth of July, 2-4 p.m. Monday. Martial arts champions have once again gathered in downtown Little Rock for the annual American Taekwondo Association World Expo and Championship, through Sunday at the Statehouse Convention Center. Special events include the Tournament of Champions, today and 4:30 p.m. Friday. The new tournament season starts at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. "Last Glimpses of Authentic Polaroid Art," 36 Polaroid photos ranging from SX-70 and 8-by-10 prints to image transfers and emulsion lifts by five members of the Blue Eyed Knockers photographers group -- Brandon Markin, Darrell Adams, Lynn Frost, Rachel Worthen and Rita Henry -- opens Friday at the Christ Episcopal Church Gallery, 509 Scott St., Little Rock. A 5:30-8 p.m. July 8 reception is part of 2nd Friday Art Night. The exhibition remains up through Sept. 30. 10 FESTIVITIES

The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas' patriotic pops concert and a fireworks display will be at the center of the 4th of July Spectacular on Monday at Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion, 5079 W. Northgate Road, Rogers. The festival kicks off at 4 p.m. with face painting, sliced watermelon (courtesy of by Regions Bank), balloon twisters, giant Jenga and Connect Four and miniature putt-putt golf. Gates open at 6; the patriotic concert program, with Paul Haas on the podium, starts at 7:30, concluding with Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and, at 9:15, a 15-minute fireworks display.
