Little Rock pedestrian shot twice, saw nobody

A man was shot twice while walking near his home Wednesday afternoon in Little Rock, police were told.

Officers responded at 1:39 p.m. to UAMS Medical Center, where Leroy Cunningham had arrived with gunshot wounds on his right shoulder and right thigh. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Cunningham, 24, said he'd been walking in the area of Wolfe Street and Wright Avenue when he heard several shots, according to a police report. He was struck twice as he ran from the gunfire. Cunningham said he fled to a friend's house nearby, and the friend drove him to the hospital.

The report states Cunningham did not see a shooter.

Police were investigating. No arrests had been made Thursday.
