Police on Monday identified the victim of a fatal weekend stabbing outside a Salvation Army location in Texarkana as 33-year-old Joshua Sines.
Witnesses said Sines was stabbed to death in the chest by a man Saturday evening at 316 Hazel St., ArkansasOnline previously reported.
The man, identified by police as Billy Joe Mitchell, 43, was later seen by witnesses fleeing on foot along North State Line Avenue and crossing into Texas, spokesman Lt. Bobby Jordan said in a statement.
Mitchell was arrested and taken to the Miller County jail Sunday. He remained at the jail as of Monday afternoon on a charge of second-degree murder, records show.
Sines was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
