Jeremy Moore told deputies that he had "blacked out" and didn't recall what happened, the release said. He was arrested and awaits the filing of formal charges by Prosecuting Attorney Tom Tatum of Danville.

Authorities have sent the woman's body to the state medical examiner's office to determine the cause of death.

Online court records show that Jeremy Moore had filed a divorce petition last month and that Sarah Moore later filed a counterclaim. He cited "general indignities and other statutory grounds." She cited general indignities, a common reason listed on divorce petitions.

The couple had been awarded temporary joint custody of their three children, with the husband to pay monthly child support. On March 7, the husband had requested that an attorney ad litem be appointed to represent the children's best interests. The divorce case was pending when Sarah Moore died.
