Southern Regional Concert Band Festival

RUSSELLVILLE — The 2016 Arkansas Tech University Southern Regional Concert Band Festival will take place Friday and Saturday, with more than 1,500 students representing 32 high school, junior high and middle school bands from around Arkansas. Performances will take place at The Center for the Arts at Russellville High School, beginning at 1 p.m. Friday and at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Arkansas Tech Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform at 8:30 p.m. Friday, and at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday. The concerts are free and open to the public. Military Fest and Vehicle Show

VILONIA — The Museum of Veterans and Military History, 53 N. Mount Olive Road, will host the Military Fest and Military Vehicle Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Military collectors and enthusiasts are invited to display items and share history with attendees. Veterans of every era are welcome to visit and share stories. The museum will be open for free tours, and coffee will be available. There is no charge to attend the show or display items. Spring Bazaar, Bake and Craft Sale

MAYFLOWER — The Mayflower United Methodist Women will have their Spring Bazaar, Bake and Craft Sale from 7 a.m. to noon in the Fellowship Hall of Mayflower United Methodist Church, at Miller and North Main streets. The sale will feature homemade fried pies, for $1 each, in a variety of fruit flavors and chocolate, along with home-preserved jams, jellies and pickles; quick breads, cookies, cakes and rolls; and housewares and some furniture. Chances to win a full-size quilt will be sold for $1 each. The quilt may be viewed at Linda’s Grocery until Friday. Proceeds from the sale will benefit mission work in the community. Out of the Darkness Campus Walk

CONWAY — The Out of the Darkness Campus Walk for suicide prevention will begin at 9 a.m. at the University of Central Arkansas. Registration for the walk, sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, will begin at 8 a.m. at the amphitheater in the middle of campus, or one can sign up online at ucaoutofthe

darknesswalk.org until noon Friday. The walk route can be found on the website. Donations can be made online, too. The fundraising goal is $20,000. Proceeds will be used for research, education programs, advocacy and support.

Pancake Breakfast

CONWAY — The annual Richard Poi Pancake Breakfast will be presented by John H. Dunn Chapter 10 of the Disabled American Veterans from 7 a.m. to noon at 1490 S. Donaghey Ave. The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $5 for adults. Children ages 6 and younger may eat free. Pet Adoption Events

CLINTON — The MUTTS (Motivated Understanding Thoughtful Teenage Students) Club from the Clinton School District will hold a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the parking lot of Backyard Antiques. Proceeds will be used for free adoption vouchers for the upcoming North Shore Animal League America’s Tour for Life Pet Adoption Event, which will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 7 on the parking lot of Backyard Antiques. The students will also sell Splash Automatic Car Wash coupons at the bake sale, with all proceeds going to the adoption event.

Josh Radnor Lecture

CONWAY — Actor, director and writer Josh Radnor will speak at 7:30 p.m. in the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas as part of the UCA Public Appearance’s Distinguished Lecture Series. Radnor, known for his role as Ted Mosby on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, has written, directed and starred in two feature films. Archeological Society Meeting

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas River Valley Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. at the Arkansas Tech Museum in the Techionery Building at Arkansas Tech University. Kristen Epps of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway will give a presentation titled Out of the Ashes: History and the Memory of Quantrill’s Raid on Lawrence. Small Business Workshop

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present Introduction to Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Arkansas Tech University. CONWAY — Animal supporters can stretch their charitable dollars by making online gifts to the Faulkner County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals through ArkansasGives.org from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 7. Fashion Gala

FAIRFIELD BAY — The 23rd annual Fashion Gala, presented by the Xi Gamma Kappa chapter, will be held at 1 p.m. April 8 at the St. Francis Parish Hall, 250 Woodlawn Drive. Book Sale

CONWAY — The Friends of the Faulkner County Libraries will have a book sale for members of the Friends from 6-8:30 p.m. April 8, and for the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 9, at the Faulkner County Library, 1900 Tyler St. The public may join the Friends organization the night of the sale or before at the library. Cemetery Cleanup

MOUNT VERNON — The annual Mount Vernon Community Cemetery cleanup will be from 8 a.m. to noon April 9. A potluck lunch will be served at noon at the Mount Vernon Community Center. Church Fundraiser

Tee It Up for Literacy Golf Tournament

FAIRFIELD BAY — The Fairfield Bay Library Friends Inc.’s eighth annual Tee It Up for Literacy Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for the Fairfield Bay Library, will take place April 16 at the Indian Hills Golf Course. Cemetery Preservation Workshop
