Springfest, the family oriented offshoot of Riverfest, debuts 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday in Riverfront Park, Little Rock. The lineup of activities includes a 5K run, Ruff on the River Pooch Parade, arts and crafts, food, a steak cook-off, displays, CALS Con at the Main Library and Trout Fishing in America will wrap it up with a concert starting at 4:30. The Little Rock Zoo and Heifer International are teaming up to let children get hands-on experience with animals and learn how animals help people around the world, 10 a.m. Saturday. The new Arkansas Heritage Farm includes goats, sheep, turkeys and miniature horses that visitors can pet, help groom and feed. There will also be educational materials and a new playground.
