PAPER TRAILS: Arkansan produces Kristofferson record; former TV weatherman sets world ad record

MUSIC MAN: Perryville native Shawn Camp, who was named male vocalist of the year in 2015 by the International Bluegrass Music Association, is also known for his songwriting. His work includes Josh Turner's hit, "Would You Go With Me," and "Live This Long," featured on Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard's album, Django and Jimmie. Camp's most recent work? Co-producing Kris Kristofferson's new album, The Cedar Creek Sessions. Camp plays lead guitar on live recordings captured during a three-day jam session in 2014 at Cedar Creek Recording studio in Austin, Texas. The album is set for release in June, just before Kristofferson turns 80. Camp now lives in Nashville.

MAD ABOUT ADS: There's a good reason TV viewers may feel like they've seen a lot of Little Rock-based Ron Sherman's commercials. They have. Sherman is a former local TV weatherman who then did ads for home improvement companies. Sherman, the founder of a full-service ad agency and production studio, Ron Sherman Advertising, will receive a Guinness World Records award this Tuesday for setting the record for the most TV commercials produced in the world. The company documented 3,503 of his commercials, a year's worth, for Guinness. But wait! There's more! It's estimated he's taped more than 70,000 ads in his 30-year career.

FASHION STATEMENT: Beth Ditto, indie rock singer and advocate for plus-size fashion, is back in style again, literally. The Searcy native and former Judsonia resident entered the fashion world years ago, leading a best-selling collection with British retailer Evans in 2009 as well as walking runways.

Ditto, who garnered a large following in Europe while fronting her band Gossip, has released a new collection of plus-size clothing (sizes 14 to 28) priced from $65 to $365, reports Us magazine.

"I wanted to create something all its own, something just for us, made with love and consideration," Ditto explains on shop.bethditto.com, her online store. Her spring collection includes dresses, jumpsuits, a heavily decorated jean jacket, skirts, oversized shirts, leggings and T-shirts.

CODE (OLD, NEW, BORROWED) BLUE: After Greenbrier native Chase Phillips, 25, proposed to Katie Grady, 28, in a hospital emergency room, it landed the couple on People magazine's website last week. Phillips, a Greenbrier native, was driving his girlfriend of five years to a surprise proposal in Conway in late March when a traffic accident landed her in Conway Regional Medical Center, the magazine reported. The pair plan to wed Oct. 22.

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMM: Of the 13 groups set to perform at the 36th annual Strawberry Jam music festival at the North Central Arkansas Amphitheater in Bald Knob on May 13-14, two feature alcohol-laced names -- the Hard Cider Boys and the Moonshine Mafia. Why is this interesting? Bald Knob is in White County, which is dry.
