Shooting death of Arkansas man being investigated as homicide

The death of a man found fatally shot in Pope County early Monday is being investigated as a homicide, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.

The Pope County sheriff's office said deputies found 49-year-old Bruce Wayne Hurley shot shortly before 1 a.m. in a home on Edwards Road in Atkins.

Hurley was taken to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, where he died, the post stated.

Police are investigating the case as a homicide and asked anyone with information to call the sheriff's office at (479) 968-2558.
