Monday recruiting tidbits: New Hog coming?

Arkansas offered two junior college prospects on Friday.

Receivers Jonathan Nance and Brandon Martin of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College said they received offers from the Hogs on Friday after receivers coach Michael Smith visited the school. They plan to visit Fayetteville this summer.

Nance, 6-1, 181, 4.44 also has an offer from Troy. He said he's sending his transcript to Arkansas and if everything checks out there's a good possibility he'll commit next week. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Martin, 6-4, 225, 4.37 has about 15 other offers from schools like Florida, Auburn, Mississippi State, Louisville and Arizona State. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Nance and Martin are 2017 recruits along with highly recruited defensive end Isaiah Buggs,who also has an offer from the Hogs. Nance said Buggs plans to accompany them on their visit to Arkansas.

Sophomore quarterback Allan Walters, 6-2, 200 of Paramus, (N.J.) Paramus Catholic received an offer from Arkansas on Friday. He said he would for sure visit Fayetteville this summer.

He also has offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Michigan, Rutgers and others. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arkansas will stop by Ashdown today to check on safety target Montaric Brown. Alabama is expected to visit the school on Thursday.

Hogs tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. will visit Hermitage on Wednesday to see athlete Monta Thomas.

Freshman center-forward Kalin Bennett, 6-9, 230 of Little Rock Christian received an offer from UALR. He plays for the 15-under Arkansas Hawks. Arkansas is showing interest.

Arkansas commitment Jarrod Barnes of Cabot set the school record in the long jump with a leap of 21-11.75.

Hog defensive line signee Jonathan Marshall of Shepherd threw shot put 54 feet and placed second at regionals on Friday and now advances to Class 4A state meet.

Razorback linebacker target Josh Clarke of Jefferson, (La.) Riverdale squatted 575 pounds on Friday.
