UNLV transfer considering Hogs

Guard Jordan Cornish, who is transferring from Nevada-Las Vegas, is looking at several schools, including Arkansas.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports first reported the news.

Cornish, 6-6, 215 averaged 6.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 35 percent from the field, 30.1 percent from the three-point line. He averaged 21.6 minutes a game this season.

As a freshman, he shot 48.7 percent from the three-point line, 42.4 percent from the field and 79.5 percent from the free throw line. He averaged 5.5 points, 1.6 rebounds while playing an average of 16.3 minutes.

Cornish signed with the Running Rebels in 2014 after averaging 23.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists at Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, La.

Rothstein said Cornish is also considering Memphis, Iowa State, Houston, Butler and Grand Canyon, but no visits have been set.

While Cornish may have interest in Arkansas, the Hogs haven't talked to him and aren't recruiting him.
