More than 2,600 Arkansans were without power Tuesday morning in west Little Rock after a car crashed into a utility pole, causing a domino effect that destroyed four other poles as well, an Entergy spokesman said.

The utility company reported that 2,614 customers were without electricity as of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Ten crews were working to restore damaged poles, Entergy spokesman Sally Graham said. The service was estimated to be restored by 3 p.m., according to the Entergy website.

Service went out at 1:30 a.m. after a car hit the utility pole near Napa Valley Drive, she said.

"Customers may wonder when they wake up why their power is out on a clear day, but unfortunately, things like this can happen," Graham said.
