Search for missing Arkansas teen enters third day

Authorities are continuing to search for a missing Gould teenager who was last heard from Sunday morning, the Lincoln County sheriff said Tuesday.

Deputies said Kameron Tarlton, 15, last spoke with his sister at 1:30 a.m. Sunday to let her know that he was on his way home from a friend's house.

When he never arrived, deputies began looking for him and found his ATV in a canal he often crosses, Sheriff Leonard Hogg said.

Heavy rain Saturday night had caused water levels to rise and the current to quicken, the sheriff added.

In the third day of the search, two boats and two divers searched the canal as inmates from the Lincoln County jail tried to slow the current and increase visibility by using sandbags to build a temporary dam, Hogg said.

The sheriff said an additional 15 people, including friends, family and community volunteers, searched the surrounding area.
