The prosecution was preparing to rest its case Thursday against a North Little Rock man accused of killing a romantic rival after playing some of the defendant's phone calls made from jail.

The prosecution played two phone calls made in late February 2015 from Tyrun Jones to Brianna Jordan, his girlfriend at the time that her ex-boyfriend Alex Booker was shot to death on Christmas Eve 2014.

Both 15-minute phone calls, as well as a third one introduced by the defense, were interrupted numerous times by a reminder to the participants that the calls were being recorded.

In the calls, Jones tells with Jordan that she "is not a suspect" and pleads with her to say she does not know who shot Booker.

Jordan testified Tuesday that she saw Jones shoot Booker. The defense has made its case that Jordan was the shooter.
