Doyle and Davis duo to play folk and Celtic music concert

John Doyle and Ashley Davis will perform a folk and Celtic music concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the Little Rock Folk Club at Hibernia Irish Tavern. Admission is $15, $8 for students with IDs, free for accompanied children 12 and under.

The Dublin-born Doyle previously performed in Little Rock as a member of the group Solas. He went on to additional fame playing with Joan Baez and Mary Chapin Carpenter and was nominated for a Grammy award for his work with fiddler Liz Carroll. He has released three solo albums.

Davis has released six albums of Celtic music and has worked with Sara Watkins and Paddy Maloney. Davis and Doyle have been collaborating for three years, beginning with their version of "Barbara Allen," and more recently with The Christmas Sessions in 2015.

Avery Hill of Portland, Ore., will be featured at 7 p.m. Saturday in the "Women of Mountain Music" series at the Ozark Folk Center near Mountain View. Tickets are $12 and seating is general admission.

Opening acts are Clancey Ferguson (of Honeysuckle) and Pam Setser, Herbin' League (Tina Marie Wilcox and Marion Spear) and Mary Gillihan and friends.

Wildflowers consists of Garland and her friends Bonnie Montgomery and Mandy McBryde, who are at work on a trio album.

The Patrice Pike Trio will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack in Little Rock. Tickets are $8 general admission, $13 for reserved seating.

Pike, first known for Sister 7, a Dallas band she founded, has recorded eight albums and performed on the Lilith Fair and H.O.R.D.E. tours. She is the co-founder of the Step Forward Foundation, which provides services for young adult survivors of homelessness.
