Thursday recruiting tidbits: Greenwood QB adds to offer list

Greenwood sophomore quarterback Connor Noland received an offer from Penn State Wednesday.

Arkansas offered him last week. He also has offers from UCLA, Texas A&M, Kentucky, North Carolina and Arkansas State

Noland, 6-2, 185 pounds completed 72 of 106 passes for 844 yards and 8 touchdowns along with throwing 2 interceptions for the Bulldogs while splitting time with starter Luke Hales. He visited the Hogs on April 16.

England tight end-defensive end B.J. Thompson added an offer from Kansas on Wednesday. He also has offers from Washington State, Cincinnati, Memphis, Arkansas State and others.

Arkansas running backs coach Reggie Mitchell visited Rockwall, (Texas) Rockwall-Heath on Tuesday. Sophomore cornerback Tanner McCalister was one of the prospects he checked on.

Freshman quarterback Grant Gunnell, 6-6, 190 of Houston St. Pius received his first offer from Texas State on Wednesday. He and his brother, Will, a 2017 receiver visited Arkansas a few weeks ago. Their grandfather played on the Hogs' 1964 national championship team.

Razorback offensive coordinator Dan Enos is expected to visit St. Pius to watch Gunnell throw in the spring.

Arkansas offensive tackle target Dalton Wagner said he expects offensive line coach Kurt Anderson to visit his school on Monday.

Wagner, 6-9, 300 of Richmond, Illinois plans to visit the Hogs during the summer.

Anderson visited the school of offensive tackle Foster Sarell on Tuesday.

Sarell, 6-7, 320 of Graham, (Wash.) Graham-Kapowsin is rated the No. 7 offensive tackle and No. 24 overall prospect in the nation by ESPN.

Arkansas extended an offer to highly regarded sophomore receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. of Bossier City, (La.) Parkway on Wednesday. Video highlights CLICK HERE

The Hogs also offered Marshall's teammate and sophomore quarterback Justin Rogers on Wednesday. Video highlights CLICK HERE

As of now, it doesn't appear Arkansas will pursue Drexel guard transfer Terrell Allen.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported Allen being interested in Arkansas, North Carolina George Washington and Virginia Tech.

Former Jacksonville receiver D'vone McClure, who has committed to walk-on at Arkansas, is working out at a training facility in Tampa before he reports to Fayetteville.

McClure, 6-3, 190 pounds was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 4th round of the 2012 Major League Draft and played four seasons in the Indians' minor league system. The Indians will pay for his education at Arkansas.
