An attorney who brought legal analysis to Little Rock’s NBC and Fox affiliates earlier this year has returned to the stations, this time as a fill-in reporter in the mornings.

Chanley Painter has joined the team at KARK 4 Today and Fox 16 Good Day as a live-shot reporter while meteorologist Natalie Walters is on maternity leave, said KARK/KLRT News Director Austin Kellerman in a statement.

Walters is expected to give birth in the next few days, he said, adding that Painter will likely work through July.

Painter first came to KARK and KLRT in January, using her legal background to help the station report on the trial of Arron Lewis, who was convicted of capital murder in the kidnapping and killing of Realtor Beverly Carter.

“She has one of the most impressive and unique resumes you’ll ever see,” Kellerman said.

Painter’s background includes being crowned Miss Arkansas USA 2009, Arkansas State Old-Time Fiddle Champion and Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen 2001.
