A Benton man considered armed and dangerous is sought in connection with the robbery of a minor at gunpoint Thursday night.

The minor told authorities about 11:37 p.m. that night that he had rode with friends to a Wal-Mart parking lot to meet up with another minor, the Benton Police Department said in a statement.

After getting into the other vehicle, the minor told police that passenger Christopher Marquese Henson, 18, pointed a handgun at his head and demanded that he empty his pocket. He added that Henson also stole his cellphone.

Henson is described by authorities as standing 6 feet tall and having black hair and brown eyes.

The minor then “jumped out of the vehicle and ran back to a friend’s vehicle,” according to authorities.

During a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description of the one Henson was a passenger in, officers were unable to locate the man sought.

After stopping the vehicle at Interstate 30 Frontage Road and Airlane Drive, police found an identification card belonging to Henson in the back seat, according to the statement.

The vehicle’s driver, Courtney Michael Small, 20, of Benton, was arrested and faces charges of aggravated robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to police.

Another minor passenger was also taken into custody and was expected to be charged with aggravated robbery, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Benton police at (501) 778-1171 or send an anonymous tip to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword “BNPD” in the body text.
