State police report 3 traffic fatalities

Three people died on Wednesday and Thursday after wrecks on Arkansas roads, raising the total number of vehicle fatalities in 2016 to 156, according to Arkansas State Police.

State police reported Thursday that Brittnay James, 25, of Jonesboro died after she was taken to a Memphis hospital for treatment on May 2 after falling off the back of a motorcycle on Johnson Avenue in Craighead County. A police report said James was a passenger on the 2008 Suzuki.

Jeanette Williamson, 73, of Osceola died Wednesday afternoon after her car crossed the centerline and struck two vehicles head-on on Arkansas 61 in Mississippi County, according to a police report.

No one else was injured in the wreck, and police said driving conditions were clear and dry.

Tarvers Tirrell Amos, 20, of Clarendon was also killed after his car crossed the centerline and struck a tractor-trailer head-on, according to a police report. The accident occurred at about 6 a.m. Thursday morning on U.S. 79 in Monroe County.

Police said the driving conditions were clear and dry.
