Police hunt suspect in Little Rock gas station heist

Little Rock police were investigating after a man robbed a gas station at gunpoint Sunday.

Officers responded at 4:22 p.m. to a Shell station at 3200 S. University Avenue. A cashier, Aleida Rodriguez, 59, said a man wearing black clothing had approached the counter with a bag of chips and asked if the owner of the business was around, according to a police report. Rodriguez said no, and the man pulled a gun. The man then took an undisclosed amount of money and fled.

No injuries were reported.

A witness told police she'd seen the fleeing robber throw his shirt in a trash can, then drive away in a tan, newer-model, dual-cab pickup, according to the report. Officers found the shirt, which was kept as evidence.

The robber is described as black, 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds with a thin mustache.
