Jeremy Percy, 28, of 5901 John F. Kennedy Blvd. in North Little Rock, is charged in the death of Jeanette Hunter, age unavailable.

At the time of his arrest, he was on probation after pleading guilty in January to a series of felony charges stemming from a Nov. 23 case also involving Hunter, according to court records.

On Friday, officers responding to a report of a disturbance involving a weapon shortly before 6 p.m. at Percy's residence in the Overbrook Apartments found Hunter with stab wounds on her neck, upper right shoulder and lower right stomach, according to a statement from Sgt. Brian Dedrick, the spokesman for the North Little Rock police.

Hunter was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock with life-threatening injuries, the statement said. Police later were told that she was on life support and not expected to recover.

Percy was at the scene and "immediately placed his hands behind his back upon seeing the uniformed police officers," the statement said.

Percy, who was initially charged with first-degree domestic battery, "admitted to cutting the victim with a sharp metal object during a disturbance at the apartment," according to the statement.

At 2:57 p.m. Monday, Hunter died from her injuries, the statement said.

On Jan. 7, Pulaski County Circuit Judge Herb Wright sentenced Percy to 60 days in jail and six years' probation and fined him $1,500 in exchange for Percy admitting guilt to second-degree domestic battery, aggravated assault on a household or family member, first-degree terroristic threatening and criminal trespass stemming from the November case involving Hunter.

As part of the agreement, the judge also issued an order banning Percy from having any contact with Hunter, according to court records. Percy also was ordered to complete an anger-management program within six months.

He was given credit for having served 48 days in jail.

Percy remained in the Pulaski County jail with no bail Monday night.
