Glenn Alexander Swayze, 58, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Marcus Tidwell, 39. He's the second person arrested in the slaying. Eric Leon Green, 46, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in October and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Police said all three men were homeless when the killing occurred.

Green testified at trial that he and another man beat Tidwell to death because they thought Tidwell had stolen something from their camp in the 100 block of North Chester Street. As part of his 30-year prison sentence, Green agreed to testify against the other man who took part in the beating. The other man had not been identified at the time, according to reports.

Little Rock police said in a news release Wednesday that investigators had been seeking Swayze in the killing since Oct. 2. Officers found and arrested him downtown at President Clinton Avenue and Ferry Street about 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, an arrest report states.

Swayze had also been wanted on charges of contempt of court and failure to pay related to a public intoxication and drug conviction in 2014.

He was being held in the Pulaski County jail late Wednesday.
