A Washington state-based broadcaster is the newest addition to the KARK and FOX 16 reporting staff, Nexstar Broadcasting officials said Friday.

Caitlin Rearden, who works as an anchor and reporter at KHQ-TV in Spokane, Wash., will be joining the team in late June, News Director Austin Kellerman said.

“Caitlin has shown a history of digging for information and finding unique, compelling ways to present it to the viewer,” he said in a statement. “It’s clear she cares about people and helping them make informed decisions.”

The California State University alumna and mother of two has six years of reporting experience in Bakersfield, Calif.; and Greenville, Miss.

She also has family in Little Rock.

“I immediately loved Little Rock the first time I visited," Rearden said. "I have come to really feel welcome in central Arkansas. It is a place I'm excited to call home.”

The addition is one of two changes to the reporting staff after Ken Buffa and Hilary Hunt said they would be accepting positions at other stations.
