Faulkner County deputies arrested a Conway man Wednesday after he pointed a gun at a neighbor then barricaded himself in his home for three hours, a spokesman for the sheriff's office said Saturday.

Police responded to Sunny Gap Road and Harrod Place Drive, where witnesses said 45-year-old William Bryant leaned over their fence and threatened them with a long-barrel pistol, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Bryant also threatened deputies when they arrived on scene and then fled to his home, authorities said. During the standoff, Bryant fired two shots at deputies before surrendering peacefully three hours later.

He is charged with three counts of terroristic threatening and two misdemeanor offenses. He is being held on a $3,000 bond at the Faulkner County jail.
