Fayetteville man charged in knifing

FAYETTEVILLE -- A man stabbed his mother's boyfriend in the neck with a pocketknife during a fight Tuesday morning, according to a preliminary Fayetteville police report.

Stephen Rodney Rohrbach, 34, of 105 N. Platinum Drive, Apt. 1, was arrested Tuesday in connection with aggravated assault and first-degree terroristic threatening. Rohrbach hadn't yet been booked into the Washington County jail as of 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Police didn't release the name of the man who was stabbed.

Police said Rohrbach and his mother's boyfriend started arguing about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday outside Motel 6, 2980 N. College Ave. Rohrbach threatened to kill the man, according to the report.

During the argument, Rohrbach took out a pocketknife and extended the blade, according to the report. The man grabbed Rohrbach "by the throat and pushed him back against the wall," according to the report.

Surveillance video shows Rohrbach stabbed the man in the left side of his neck, according to the report.
