An announced crowd of 1,873 watched Arkansas' final home game of the season.

Arkansas (26-26) has lost 10 consecutive games -- including nine in May -- since beating Texas A&M 9-5 in the opener of a doubleheader on April 30.

It's the Razorbacks' longest losing streak since they lost 12 in a row in 1965.

Arkansas' only hit was an infield single by Carson Shaddy in the first inning against starter Austin Knight.

"I think Austin Knight just stuck it to us," Razorbacks Coach Dave Van Horn said. "He did it to us the last time, too."

Knight (5-2) started and went 5 2/3 innings in Missouri State's 14-6 victory over Arkansas on May 3 at Springfield, Mo., when he shut out the Razorbacks until the sixth inning. He went five innings Tuesday night.

"He's been pretty good on the year," Van Horn said. "He's had some bad innings, but we never put one together on him."

Sam Perez went three shutout innings for the Bears, and closer Bryan Young struck out the side in the ninth.

The Razorbacks struck out 12 times, including their last five batters swinging.

"They threw three really good pitchers at us and we didn't handle it very well at all and didn't hit very many balls well," Van Horn said.

Missouri State shortstop Jeremy Eierman went 5 for 5 -- including two home runs -- and drove in four runs. Both of his home runs went to right field, where the wind was blowing out.

Van Horn said two balls hit to left field by Arkansas left fielder Luke Bonfield turned into flyouts because of the wind blowing in from that direction.

"Bonfield hit two balls that would have been out of the park on any other night," Van Horn said. "That was too bad because he hit two balls on the nose.

"We hit the ball hard probably five times, which isn't enough obviously."

Missouri State left fielder Spencer Johnson led off the fifth inning against Kacey Murphy with his 18th home run to give the Bears a 6-2 lead. Blake Gardner followed with a double, and Eierman hit a two-run home run against Josh Alberius to make it 8-2.

Arkansas cut Missouri State's lead to 5-2 with a run in the third inning when the first two batters -- Jake Arledge and Clark Eagan -- were hit by pitches. Arledge came around to score on groundouts by Shaddy and Bonfield.

The Bears took a 2-1 lead in the second inning when Eierman hit a home run and Matt Fultz scored on a wild pitch after walking and going to third on a double by Ryan Mantle.

Eierman had an RBI single and Aaron Meyer hit a two-run double in the third inning to push Missouri State's lead to 5-1.

Arkansas took a 1-0 first-inning lead. Shaddy hit a one-out single, went to third on a passed ball and throwing error and scored on Bonfield's groundout.

Barrett Loseke started for Arkansas and allowed 2 hits and 2 runs in 2 innings.

The Razorbacks open their final SEC series at No. 4 Mississippi State Thursday night.
