Days after purchasing Monticello-based SeaArk Boats, Florida firm Correct Craft has named Steve Henderson as president of the newly acquired company.

Thursday's announcement marks an internal promotion for Henderson, who has served as vice president of sales at SeaArk for 13 years, the Orlando-based company said in a news release.

“The future of SeaArk is extremely promising, and our team is excited,” Henderson said in a statement. “Correct Craft has an outstanding culture, and together we are going to do great things.”

Correct Craft announced the acquisition of family-owned company SeaArk on Tuesday, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported. The purchase expands Correct Craft's operations into the aluminum boat market.

“As my relationship with Steve has developed over the past few months, it became obvious to me that he was the right person to lead SeaArk," said Bill Yeargin, president and CEO of Correct Craft.

About 80 people in Arkansas currently work at SeaArk, and the boating industry directly employs 7,500 in the state, according to the Democrat-Gazette.
