Deputies: 18-wheeler stolen in Arkansas found wrecked in Louisiana

SHREVEPORT, La. — Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies are investigating the crash of a stolen 18-wheeler.

Sgt. Mike Vaitkus said in a news release the tractor-trailer was taken from a truck stop in Texarkana around 4:30 a.m. Friday.

Vaitkus said patrol deputies found the vehicle overturned on the side of Interstate 49 in the northern part of the parish around 5:30 a.m.

He said the 18-wheeler carrying two AT&T work trucks struck the center rail as it passed over Louisiana Highway 2. He said the vehicle ran off the highway, rolled down an embankment and overturned.
