Man sought in shooting death of horse in Arkansas

Forrest City police are offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information regarding the location of a man accused of fatally shooting a horse.

In a news release, the Forrest City Police Department said Brandon Mitchell could be in the Little Rock area.

Information regarding his age and home address was not immediately available.

Authorities responded May 4 to Jarratt Stables on Newcastle Road in Forrest City, north of The Skating Star, after a call of a horse that had been shot and killed, according to the release.

The horse, Brownie, had been shot from an old driveway on the property, police said.

Mitchell, who was named as a suspect during the investigation, is sought on felony charges of aggravated animal cruelty, first-degree criminal mischief and furnishing a handgun to a convicted felon.
