Little Rock restaurant robber takes purse, flees

A knife-wielding man held up a Little Rock restaurant and fled with a woman's purse Thursday, police reported.

Officers were called about 6 p.m. to Subway at 6701 W. 12th St. Two employees said a man had entered the business, waited for several customers to leave and then asked if the restaurant gave "free samples," according to a police report. The man then jumped over the counter and pulled out a knife.

Both employees fled and called police, according to the report. No injuries were reported.

Officers viewed surveillance footage that showed the robber take an employee's purse and leave the business through a back door. Police said the robber did not attempt to take money from the cash register.

The robber is described as black, 6 feet tall, 170 pounds and between the ages of 25 and 30. He wore jeans and a purple-and-white shirt.
