CARIBBEAN CABARET

Tropical event nets $82,000 for Women, Children First

The backyard of Cindy and Chip Murphy's Edgehill home was the setting May 14 for Caribbean Cabaret, a fundraiser for Women and Children First.

About 225 guests enjoyed music from Almost Infamous, bid on silent auction items and dined on a buffet of tropically inspired hors d'oeuvres set up just outside the pool house. Guests could dine at tables holding colorful floral arrangements around the pool or on white upholstered furniture grouped on the lawn.

Live auction items included a "Big Time at the Little Duck Farm," a duck hunt hosted by Chip Murphy that included a down-home breakfast and a Southern-style supper, and a Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler New Orleans-style party, hosted at the home of Tiffany and Daniel Robinson with dinner by Faded Rose for 29 guests.

Tiffany Robinson served as chairman of the event, which raised $82,000 for Women and Children First. The organization provides crisis intervention and safe shelter for domestic violence survivors and their children.
